About
When Barbara and Nove Meyers moved to Port Orchard a few years ago, they looked for a local restaurant where they knew the food would be consistently good, fresh, and have a home-made quality. They hoped to find a place where they could go when they just didn’t feel like cooking, but also could take visitors for something a bit more special.
After waiting at one place for over an hour to get a mediocre meal, Barbara, who has an extensive food-service background, said, “I know I can do better than this.” Well, a few months later that restaurant closed and the Meyers’ had the opportunity to buy the building and the idea for “Everybody’s American Cookhouse” was born.
Now, after a year of hard work and extensive remodeling, you are welcome to enjoy the place where “everybody’s somebody at everybody’s.” Along with good home-style northwest comfort food in our dining room you can enjoy your favorite cocktails, wines, and local microbrews in either our intimate lounge or catch your favorite team in our brand new sports theatre featuring over twenty TVs and the largest sports screen in Kitsap County. And, if you don’t save room for dessert, you can always take something home from our in-house bakery.
Our goal is to create a place where our neighbors can enjoy good food and good times in a clean, fun, and safe environment. We also want to be good neighbors. In building our space we have involved a number of local artisans whose work you can see throughout the property. By working with Kitsap Helpline nursery to grow many of the vegetables and herbs you will enjoy with your meal we are offering the freshest produce available and helping to feed those in need. We also intend to offer special events and activities throughout the year to support various community groups.
